This weekend this gorgeous color shanging glitter topper has been on my nails. This is “Happy Wife, Happy Life” from Darling Diva Polish. This polish is truly amazing, it’s purple, pink, blue, green and even yellow depending how the light hits it. I have one coat over black here. On my ring finger I have used a cyclone vinyl from Twinkled T to make this swirly effect. I think it went out relly cool!
Today our cat Morris turns 1 year! Happy birthday Morris!!
Morris is a Devon Rex, and he’s a typical Devon who likes to sit on our shoulders, nap under the bed covers at night with me when it’s chilly outside and sounds “quirky” when he wants something special. We all love him very much ❤ ❤ ❤
To celebrate Morris I have of course a cat mani to show you! For this look I have used a custom made polish from Nayll (that I named “Gorgeous Teal”), OPI “My dogsled is a hybrid”, Lime Crime “Milky Ways” and chevron vinys from Nailvinyls.com and water decals (I think I bought the water decals at http://www.foxyfingertips.dk)
Lime Crime “Milky Ways” is a gorgeous vanilla white polish, it becomes opaque in two coats, the first coat may appear a little streaky but that evens out with coat no 2.
OPI “My dogsled is a hybrid” is from OPI’s fall collection 2014, Nordic. It’s a muted jade/aqua/teal shade that I love very much!
My custom made polish from Nayll is consists of a teal jelly base, multiple glitters in aqua, turquoise and gold (maybe more colors, I really don’t remember them all) and white star glitters. I made three polishes, two for me and one for my youngest daughter as a Christmas gift. This teal shade is the first that I try on. On my pictures I have one(1) coat only. Wow, it’s a OCW!!
The chevron vinyls from Nail Vinyls are very easy to work with. Just remember to wait for your base coat to dry, I always use fast drying top coat (HK Girl from Glisten & Glow) and then I wait 20-30 min before I apply my vinyls.
Right before Christmas I ordered polishes from Llarowe. It was from Russian brand Dance Legend’s new collection Round Space Collection and I ordered “Super galaxy” (1075) and “Intergalactic” (1077). It’s the first time I try Dance Legend and the first time I order from Llarowe 🙂
As I haven’t had blue nails for a while my first choice is “Super galaxy” (1075). This is a dark blue jelly polish filled with holographic round glitters in different sizes. My first impression is wow!
It’s a dense glitter so I decided to layer it over a dusty navy color, KBShimmer “Stonewashed”, so I don’t have to build up opacity and the manicure doesn’t end up too thick. 🙂
On the down side is the drying time is loooong but this polish is so gorgeous I don’t mind at all. And I always use fast drying top coat anyway …
For the finished mani I used half moon vinyls from www.nailvinyls.com because I didn’t want to hide all the beauty from the base color 😉 Nail vinyls are easy to use, just remember to let your base color dry completely, I always add one coat of fast drying top coat and wait for 30 minutes before I put on the vinyls.
I really like this mani and I hope you like it too … ❤
There’s no snow in the south of Sweden where I live, it’s just grey and dark 😦 and today I’m sporting grey nails as well. Not just an ordinary grey but a stunning grey crelly/holo polish from Glam Polish called “Avalanche”. To sparkle it up a bit I added swirls with nail vinyls from Twinkled T and Glam Polish “Bewitched”. Using nail vinyls is easy nail art for beginners. Just make sure your polish base is dry before you start!
This mani was tricky to photograph … No natural light in the evenings (and I don’t yet have a light box) and with flash I get the holo finish to show but the swirl patterns isn’t showing very well. On the other hand a photo without flash gets quite dark but then the swirl pattern is showing.
Strangely enough my pictures is showing much more blue tone to the polish than in real life and in daylight. And yeah, I haven’t figured out photo editing programs yet. You just have to bare with me ’til I figure this whole photographing thing out.
I have bought both bottles, “Avalanche” and “Bewitched” from Edgy Polish.
“Avalanche” has great formula, this is two coats over Aqua Fix base coat, plus top coat.
Today’s post is about using nail vinyls to create an easy and fun design. For this design I have used nail vinyls from Twinkled_t (www.twinkledt.com)
You will need:
- base coat of your choice
- two (or more) colored polishes
- fast drying top coat
- nail vinyls
- Paint your nails with base coat, let it dry.
- Apply color 1 on all your nails or just an accent nail (or two nails as I did).
- If needed repeat step 2.
- Apply fast drying top coat. I recommend HK Girl from Glisten&Glow. Let it dry completely, at least 20-25 min, otherwise the vinyls will take off the polish.
- Apply your vinyls. You can move them a little but be careful.
- Apply color 2 all over your nail(s).
- Remove the vinyl immediately, lift it off carefully with a tweezer.
- Let the design dry for a couple of minuts them apply top coat again.
