Candy pink nails

piCture pOlish Electric Dream

piCture pOlish “Electric Dream” and my candy

“Electric Dream” from piCture pOlish is a bright candy pink that goes perfectly with the pink Crazy sours Skittles 😀  2 coats are enough IRL but I see now for the pictures it would have been better with 3 coats.

Of course I couldn’t leave my mani plain so I re-did my ring finger with “Coral Reef” as a base and added a cyclone vinyl from Twinkled T and a coat of “Holiday” on top. All polishes are from piCture pOlish.

Holiday is a gorgeous holo glitter/flakie topper that adds sparks to every mani 🙂

I’m sorry that I haven’t posted as much lately but it’s been crazy busy at work and I haven’t really got the time to write blog posts, but if you follow me on Instagram you could see my daily manis there at least. You can find me as @nillanpillan 😉

Valentine’s mani x 2

Today is February 14th also known as Valentine’s day ❤ and of course I’ve got manis to match the day.

piCture pOlish Scarlett

piCture pOlish “Scarlett”

First I did a mani with piCture pOlish “Scarlett” and “Ripple Ivory” from & other Stories with a stamped heart chain. I used Moyou plate Princess 10 and Scarlett for the stamping.  Cute and very appropriate for Valentine’s.

But when I smudged two nails on my cindy I decided to redo my nails a little bit more edgy but still in the theme of Valentine’s.

Valentine’s mani no. 2

Mani no.2 is made with piCture pOlish “Mad Magenta” and a glitter heart topper from Homei, 2P or “A wish of the princess”.

Lovely coral

Bright and colorful nails are always a yes for me and coral  has a special place in my heart. This coral pink polish from piCture pOlish is an example of the perfect coral shade. It’s the perfect mix between pink and orange. For my pictures I have two coats and I have a tiny bit VNL but nothing that bothers me much. It’s a kind of color that makes you happy whenever you look at your own nails 😀 I like that!

Parisian nails in Copenhagen

I’m spending my weekend (Saturday to Sunday anyway) in Copenhagen with a friend. It’s always nice to get away and spend some time with a girl friend, catching up, do some (read: a lot of) shopping, eat and drink.
My family is back home missing me terribly(?) 😉 LOL

I thought I’d share my nails for the weekend with you, I’ve chosen piCture pOlish “Paris” ❤ I love Paris, I’ve only been there once and I’d love to go back, especially in spring time. Can you imagine something more romantic than Paris in spring? I don’t think so! 😀

“Paris” from piCture pOlish is a vibrant and bright coral scattered holo and it’s a beautiful shade. As always perfect formula from piCture pOlish. Two coats and top coat.

Have a nice weekend!

Bottle green nails

Picture Polish "Mallard"

Picture Polish “Mallard”

It’s Wednesday today and time for green nails according to Swedish blogger “Vacker & Underbar”. I decided to join with the beautiful bottle green polish “Mallard” from Picture Polish.

Deep green with golden flecks

Deep green with golden flecks

The polish is a deep green jelly with green and gold glass flecks. I had to paint three thin coats to get full opacity on all nails, I maybe could have got away with two coats on some nails but I did three. It’s really beautiful when the lights hit the nails and shows the golden flecks. In lower light the nails look almost black.

As of no daylight left when I get home from work I had to take all pictures with either flash or direct light from spotlights. Unfortunately I don’t have a light box yet but it’s on my wishlist for my birthday 😉 so this photos is the ones I got.

Head over to Karin’s blogg “Vacker & Underbar” to see more green manicures!!

My year in polish etc., a summary of 2014, part 3

Time to finish up my year summary, but for this third and last part it is much harder to select what to post. I think it depends on that I began to post much more frequently on Instagram this fall and I have so much more nail pics to choose from. But somehow I have to narrow it down so here we go 😀

In September I made my first order from Harlow & Co, three shades from KBShimmer

I had seen many pictures of KBShimmer shades on Instagram and was so excited to finally try them on. I can say I wasn’t disappointed, I’m very pleased with both the colors, application and finish! KBShimmer is one of my favorite brands 🙂
The shipping from Harlow & Co was really quick that first time, 3 days, but it can take longer time, due to holidays etc.

I also bought my first bottles of Foxy Paws Polish in September. It’s a Danish indie brand with really unique shades, like this bright green for example, “Ms Matronic’s Magic Mirrors”.

I wore a lot of gorgeous manicures in October.

These matte nude nails are one of my favorite manis of the whole year.

As October is breast cancer awareness month I did a pink ribbon mani. Maybe not so pretty close up but I give it to you anyway.

I also bought two shades from China Glaze’s fall collection All Aboard. This is “Choo-Choo Choose You”, it’s a duochrome shade that’s dusty purlple in the bottle and more greige coppery on the nails.

One of my favorite manis in October was done with this gorgeous aqua/teal polish from Pretty & Polished “Go with the Pisces flow”. I paired it with “My dogsled is a hybrid” from OPI and some rhinestones.

In November I bought my first bottles of Picture Polish. I’ve had heard and seen so much of this brand so I was very excited to try it on and a was very pleased. All PP shades I have tried have applied like butter and they have many gorgeous shades to choose from. In my first manicure I paired PP “Never Nude” with gorgeous duochrome Spell Polish “Uncharted Waters”.

In November I also began to use “Simply Pure Hydrating Oil” from Bliss Kiss and together with Glazed Apple Hand Cream from The Body Shop my hands and nails feel stronger and softer and they are better equiped to deal with winter.

Another gorgeous polish that I rocked in November was this stunning shade from Smitten Polish, “131 Angstrom” is a gorgeous teal glitter that’s just amazing.

I think November is dull and grey so to cheer me up I love to put on some bright colors, like this for example; Bootie Babe “Freaky Cheeky” 😀 You just got to smile when you see such a vibrant color!!

I made my version of french manicure, a gradient with Picture Polish “Lakodom” and “Grace”. Really classy if I may say so myself (and this is my blog, so I may! :D).

Laquerlicious “Lady Liberty” was on my wishlist so when Edgy Polish got a restock I was quick to order it.

In December I did a lot of snow inspired nails 🙂
Like these … Black Dahlia Lacquer “Olaf’s Snowflower” stamped with Mentality Polish “Wangari”

Or these … Mavala “Moon Grey” with Formula X “Wham!” on top. I think it looks like fresh snow on soil.

I also joined a nail art challange for the first time. The WNAC (weekly nail art challenge). The theme for December was sparkles and the designs for the month was; glitter, snow, garland, new years (you can see a summary of it here
My first design was this, Smitten “Audrey’s Rainbow” with glitter from L’Oréal “Discoball” and a white nail art pen for the bow design.

The big thing in December is of course that I started this blog! On December 12 I made my first post. I had been thinking of blogging for quite some time and finally thought “let’s do it”. So here I go … I hope at least someone reading my posts and find them enjoyable and/or usefull 🙂

Hypnotic swirls

Today’s post is about using nail vinyls to create an easy and fun design. For this design I have used nail vinyls from Twinkled_t (www.twinkledt.com)

You will need:

  • base coat of your choice
  • two (or more) colored polishes
  • fast drying top coat
  • nail vinyls
  • tweezer

cyclone vinyls + top coat

  1. Paint your nails with base coat, let it dry.
  2. Apply color 1 on all your nails or just an accent nail (or two nails as I did).
  3. If needed repeat step 2.
  4. Apply fast drying top coat. I recommend HK Girl from Glisten&Glow. Let it dry completely, at least 20-25 min, otherwise the vinyls will take off the polish.
  5. Apply your vinyls. You can move them a little but be careful.
  6. Apply color 2 all over your nail(s).
  7. Remove the vinyl immediately, lift it off carefully with a tweezer.
  8. Let the design dry for a couple of minuts them apply top coat again.
  9. Ready!
